A Straight Path Forward

Hey there! I wish you a very blessed New Year, 2024, where you continue to grow and develop a strong relationship with the Lord. 

Are you ready to receive an exceptional blessing from the Lord this year? Proverbs 3:5-6 holds the key: 

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

That’s right, the Scripture reveals that we should have complete faith in the Lord, and not just rely on our own understanding. We must submit to Him and acknowledge Him in all ways. And guess what? He will straighten out our paths beautifully! 

I understand that you might be concerned about your future, wondering which way to go as there may be so many options available to you. Or maybe you have experienced setbacks and failures that have left you feeling discouraged. But my friend, take heart! God promises to make your path straight, and He always keeps His promises. Stay optimistic and trust in His guidance completely. 

 Imagine for a moment a film director. He is a master of his craft, and he knows exactly how to get the best out of his actors. He is strict, but fair, pushing them to give their very best performance every time. Every shot has to be perfect, every expression just right. “More emotion!” he'll say. “I want to see your rage on your face!” And the actors listen, trusting in his guidance, knowing that he has a vision for the final product that's beyond anything they could have imagined. 

In the same way, God is the ultimate director of our lives. He has authored every script, meticulously planning every detail. He knows what's best for us, and He is there to guide us every step of the way. All we need to do is put our trust in Him and let Him take the reins. It is not always easy to let go of our own plans and ideas, but when we do, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities.

So, my friend, trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding. Let the Lord guide you, and know that He has a plan for your life that's beyond anything you could have imagined. When you put your faith in Him, the possibilities are endless.

Imagine this: The Lord appears to you and says, “Hey, I want you to lead an entire nation in battle against a mighty enemy.” You might think, “Me? How could I possibly do that? I'm just a regular person with no experience in leading an army!” This happened to a young man named Gideon. He was just an ordinary guy when the Lord called him to lead Israel in battle against the powerful Midianites. He thought how will Israel suddenly trust a young boy to lead them and give their armies to command. But He simply trusted God and obeyed. And you know what? The Lord didn't disappoint him. He made some clans of Israel accept his leadership and follow him to battle. There again, the Lord made him further trim down the size of his army to just 300 to face an army that was massive like the locust swarm. Again he trusted God and obeyed. And even though they were outnumbered humungously, they emerged victorious in the end as God caused a confusion in the Midianite camp and made them fight each other. But the most amazing thing about this incident is that Gideon put his complete trust in the Lord through the impossible ways God led him through and He saw God fighting for him.

So, my friend, when you are faced with a daunting challenge or task, don't be afraid to put your faith in the Lord. He will never steer you wrong and will always provide you with the wisdom, strength, and courage you need to overcome any obstacle. Just listen, obey and follow.

After winning the World Cup, the Brazilian football team removed their jerseys to reveal T-shirts underneath with the message “All thanks to Jesus.” Just like these Brazilian football players who gave all the credit to Jesus after winning the World Cup, you should remember to acknowledge God in all your ways and in all your victories in life. And God will be honored in your life as the leader of your life and lift you up more. So, let's choose to follow God's plans and ideas for our lives and watch as He works wonders and miracles that will make our paths straight.

 Prayer

Lord, as I stand at the beginning of this New Year, I earnestly seek Your presence and guidance in my life. You alone know what the future holds for me, and only You can lead me on a straight path through Your strength and wisdom. Right now, I completely surrender my life into Your loving hands, fully trusting You and seeking Your will to be done for my life during this year. As I look over the past year, I thank You for Your goodness, which is far beyond what I deserve, and I trust that You will continue to lead me beautifully and bless me more than I could ever imagine.  In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
